High voltage infrastructure specialist reports significant growth as it strengthens position in renewable energy sector
Dunamis, a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specialising in the design and build of High Voltage (HV) grid connections and networks, has achieved significant, profitable growth as it strengthens its position in the renewable energy sector.
The Bury St Edmunds-based company has seen revenues increase by 67%, from £13.8m in 2023 to £23m, in its financial year ending 31 March 2024.
The business designs and delivers HV electrical infrastructure and connections to power industrial scale schemes, with around 90 percent of its projects being in the renewable energy sector, connecting solar farms, wind farms and battery energy storage sites (BESS).
Dunamis has taken advantage of a surge in demand for large-scale renewable energy projects, which require the highly-specialist expertise and experience the company brings to the industry.
This has included, in the past year, HV electrical infrastructure for Lightsource bp’s 158-acre co-located battery energy storage and solar site, Tiln Farm Solar Farm in Nottinghamshire, with Dunamis designing, constructing and commissioning a 132kV substation and managing and delivering the grid connection.
Dunamis is one of only a small number of ICPs in the UK on the LRQA NERS register with the ability to design and deliver electrical infrastructure projects up to 132kV and has a history of successful contract delivery. As a result, Dunamis has built a strong record of repeat business from a portfolio of clients.
The demand for Dunamis’ expertise is also reflected in the company’s current pipeline of quoted opportunities, which has grown to over £150m.
During its latest financial year, the company also enhanced its management structure to deliver its next stage of growth. This has positioned Dunamis to scale the business to secure a greater share of market sectors that are mandated for growth, particularly those involved in the electrification of the UK’s power requirements.
This has included expanding its management team, built from talented and experienced HV engineers and industry experts, who have strong HV specialisms and have developed their careers within Dunamis.
The company has also continued to benefit from being part of Fulcrum Group with support from its shared central services and the effective utilisation of the Group’s other operating divisions on its projects, most notably the expertise of HV electrical installation and maintenance specialist, Maintech Power. This utilisation of intercompany expertise and capabilities also provides a more agile and flexible project delivery.
As the UK strives towards achieving net zero there is greater demand for our highly specialist and established services, which has helped to deliver this significant growth and positive financial performance.

Looking forward, the recent change in government, which has been very vocal about its intentions to generate more clean electricity, which includes a return to the development of onshore wind farms, will deliver a further boost to the opportunities open to Dunamis.
