Dunamis successfully delivered the electrical infrastructure required to connect PS Renewables’ Markham Brook Solar Farm near Abbots Leigh, Bristol. The 7MWp development, constructed across 18 acres of land, required a full 11kV grid connection including a new on-site substation, extensive cable installation and coordination with the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO), National Grid Electricity Distribution.
Working alongside sister company Maintech Power, also part of the Fulcrum Group, the project demonstrates the benefits of integrated delivery across group businesses with long-established experience working together to improve efficiency.

To energise the solar farm, Dunamis installed almost 1.9km of cable route spanning agricultural land, soft verge and highway infrastructure, connecting the site to the DNO’s local primary substation.
A significant proportion of the works were carried out along a major A-road, which forms part of an emergency diversion route for a nearby motorway. This required detailed traffic management planning and contingency arrangements to ensure the road could be safely reopened within a rapid timeframe if required.
Markham Brook was a great example of how early collaboration and coordinated delivery can remove complexity from renewable energy connections. The route presented logistical and operational challenges, particularly around traffic management and stakeholder interfaces, but by working closely with the DNO, the developer and our colleagues at Maintech Power we were able to deliver safely and efficiently.
Having multiple Fulcrum Group companies working together allowed us to accelerate key stages of the programme and provide a seamless service for the customer, ensuring the site was ready for energisation and able to contribute clean energy to the grid.
